Synchrony Financial Contest Winner Pledges Support To IFRC
Home Exterior Systems Award Winner
Houston area contractor, Home Exterior Systems, is among this year’s winners of Synchrony Financial Working Forward contests. The 20,000-dollar prize is awarded to small businesses based on how they would direct the proceeds. For example, half the prize is intended to help the winning business directly. Meanwhile, the remaining $10,000 is applied toward the community through financial support to IFRC.
$10K Towards HES Flood Recovery Training
Home Exterior Systems had no trouble deciding how to use the prize with all the destruction left after Hurricane Harvey. Consequently, the exterior-renovation-focused business plans to invest in expanding its business toward flood recovery certification and training. After that, the program is driven by the desire to help neighbors and trusted past customers. Partner Vicky McCollim said, “The generous $10,000 award will go a long way towards educating Home Exterior Systems staff. We desire to help our customers recover from these devasting weather events.”
$10K Financial Support To IFRC Mission
Home Exterior Systems, LLC is directing $10,000 to the Institute For Renovation Contractors for the community portion of the award. The IFRC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to education and job skills training for home renovation and recovery. In short, IFRC exists to stem a shortage of skilled trade workers to fill some of the millions of job vacancies.

This financial support begins a series of activities that put IFRC’s short-range plans in motion. That is to say, programs intended to create qualified people to fill job vacancies and accelerate disaster recovery.”
